Barely 24 hours after a lecturer at the Ibrahim Badamasi University Lapai (IBBUL) resigned his membership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the institution in Niger state has also announced that the second semester for 2021/2022 academic session will commence on Monday, 5th September, 2022.
A statement by the Deputy Registrar (Information), Baba Akote obtained by ASHENEWS on Tuesday, said the decision followed the directive of the governing council of the university after its meeting held on Tuesday.
While the university directed all staff to resume work same day, it also advised students to abide by the announcement in their own interest.
“This is to inform all staff and the entire students of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai that Second Semester for 2021/2022 academic session commences on Monday, 5th September, 2022.
“The University Governing Council gave the directive at its 55th regular meeting held on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022..
“Equally, all staff are expected to resume work the same day.
“Students are please advised to heed to this special announcement in their own interest,” the statement reads.
