Tukur Mamu, the spokesperson of the Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has secured the release of 11 of the 61 victims of Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
Recall that the train attack at Dutse forest in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state on March 28, 2022 left eight people dead, 26 injured, many others kidnapped while scores of passengers were missing.
Mamu, who said had been involved in the negotiation for the release of the victims, disclosed this ChannelsTV on Saturday.
According to him, the six females and five males who were freed on health grounds in order to enable them undergo urgent medical treatment, had been flown to Abuja.
The release, according to him, was part of the request by the negotiating team, while the women who are among the vulnerable ones are part of the agreement reached with the abductors.
Mamu gave their names as Jessy John, Amina Ba’aba Mohammed (Gamba), Rashida Yusuf Busari and Hannah Ajewole.
Others include Najib Mohammed Daiharu, Gaius Gambo, Hassan Aliyu, Peace A. Boy and Danjuma Sa’idu.
