ASHENEWS reports that Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa, who was abducted by bandits this week Sunday, has gained freedom.
This platform reported HERE on May 26, 2024, that bandits kidnapped Barrister Mustafa from her residence at Bado area of Sokoto.

On the fateful day, the bandits stormed Barrister Rukayyat’s residence and kidnapped her along with a younger brother, Khalid Mustafa.
They later released the brother after they treked to a vehicle that was parked far away from her residence.

We also reported the confirmation of the incident by the spokesperson of Sokoto Police Command, Ahmad Rufai, who also said that some suspected informants had been identified.
Early Thursday morning, Barrister Bashar Muazu Jodi hinted ASHENEWS that Rukayyat had been released.

“She regained her freedom Alhamdulillah,” Jodi told ASHENEWS.
Confirming the development, Barrister Fadinand Okotete, told ASHENEWS in a telephone conversation that Mrs Mustafa had indeed gained her freedom.
“In fact, it is true. She has been released. She was released yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon,” he said.
Asked whether ransom was paid for her release, Okotete said, “No, no. No ransom was paid.
