ASHENEWS reports that bandits in the early hours of Friday kill the councilor representing Allawa ward in shiroro local government area of Niger state.
It was gathered that the deceased, Saleh Yakubu was attacked by the bandits while he was on his way from Kuta to Allawa, in Shiroro local government area.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Shiroro local government area, Akilu Kuta said that the deceased left Kuta on Friday morning to his hometown Allawa, where he was killed by bandits on his way home.
Also in his reaction to the incident, the member representing the Shiroro/Rafi/Munya constituency at the House of Representatives, Saidu Chiri said that the incident has recalled the assumption that peace had returned to the area after years of attacks by bandits.
“This is such a shocking and sad news for our constituents whom have relatively enjoy peace for some moments now from this monsters in human garb.
“Honorable Sale Yakubu Allawa was a gentle and respected youth with strength and courage to better the ward he represent and his demise will definitely leave a vacuum that will consume time to replace.”
Chiri urged residents of the area to remain calm as the representatives of the people at the national assembly were working towards addressing the challenge.
