An accident involving the convoy of Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Idris Gobir has claimed the lives of a policeman and a photographer.
The accident occurred when the deputy governor was returning to the state capital on Wednesday after his official trip to Sabon Birni.
The spokesperson of the Sokoto State Police Command, Ahmed Rufai, who confirmed the attack in a statement on Wednesday, said the accident involved a pilot vehicle in the deputy Governor’s convoy.
”The accident involved the deputy governor’s convoy pilot vehicle driven by a police officer and one person, a photographer who both died on the spot, ”the statement.
The statement said other persons who sustained injuries from the incident were receiving treatment at the Usmanu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto metropolis.
