The presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Thursday visited a former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
El-Rufai hosted Kwankwaso at his Abuja residence.
It could be recalled that El-Rufai and Kwankwaso were ministers in former president Olusegun Obasanjo administration.
While Rabiu Kwankwaso was the Defence Minister, Nasir El-Rufai was the FCT Minister.
This is coming a few days after El-Rufai visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina state.

There have been insinuations that the former Kaduna governor is aligning with opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
It could be recalled that in March, El-Rufai visited the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Abuja.
He was on his way to securing a ministerial appointment as nominated by President Bola Tinubu but he was dropped at the last-minute during screening.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain had criticized the current administration.
On April 15, El-Rufai claimed that the Bola Tinubu-led federal government was spending more money on petrol subsidy than the previous governments.
According to him, “The federal government is now subsidizing fuel; many people don’t know this”.
Reacting to E-Rufai’s visit to Buhari, a former Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly (NASS), Shehu Sani, said it was part of plots by some prominent northern politicians to unseat President Tinubu in the next election.
