The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), marking a significant milestone in the council’s ongoing commitment to educational excellence.
A total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects and was conducted nationwide from May 12 to May 23, 2025.
The announcement follows the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting, held at NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
The Chairperson of the Award Committee and Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Folake Olatunji-David expressed satisfaction with the conduct and evaluation of the exam.
She praised NECO for upholding high standards and ensuring transparency throughout the examination process.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including secondary school principals from across the country and members of NECO management.
In a related development, the Award Committee has approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE Re-sit Examination. The re-sit, limited to Mathematics and English Studies, is scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025.
NECO has advised candidates and schools to take note of the dates and make adequate preparations.
