The Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, has provided relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state. The relief package includes food and clothing items.
The Chairman of the Distribution Committee and Commissioner for Agriculture, Muhammad Tukur Alkali, led the flag-off of the distribution exercise in Binji and Bunkari Districts of Binji Local Government Area.
Alkali, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Sani Muhammad Tambuwal, said the items were provided by Governor Ahmad Aliyu to alleviate economic hardship and support the well-being of the IDPs. He added that the gesture aligns with Governor Aliyu’s nine-point agenda.
Tambuwal urged the beneficiaries to use the items responsibly and judiciously.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Binji Local Government Area, Dikko Nabunkari, expressed gratitude to Governor Aliyu for the support and prayed to Allah to reward him abundantly.
Dignitaries present at the distribution included members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly representing Binji, the Binji APC Chairman, traditional and religious leaders, among others.
