The Plateau Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Samson Bugama, has empowered 180 farmers in Kanke Local Government Area of the state, with farm inputs.
Presenting the items to the farmers on Saturday, Bugama noted that the gesture is a demonstration of deeper commitment to grassroots development.
He added that the gesture aims at boosting agricultural activities in the state, in line with Gov. Caleb Mutfwang’s drive of boosting agriculture in the state.
“This intervention reflects this administration’s commitment to enhancing agriculture at the community level by supporting small-scale farmers with tools required to improve crop yields and farm productivity.
“This underscores this administration’s commitment to bringing meaningful development to rural communities,”he said
Bugama explained that the beneficiaries were drawn from the 18 wards in the locality.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inputs donated include, pumping machines, sprayers, organic fertiliser, herbicides, pesticides, among others.
