ASHENEWS reports that Niger State Government has formalized a partnership with the Flour Mills of Nigeria, integrating the company into its Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) initiative.

This collaboration aims to accelerate agricultural processing, create jobs, and drive industrial growth in the region.

The agreement was signed in Minna, at the Government House, by the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Abubakar Usman, and the Chairman of Flour Mills of Nigeria, Mr. John Coumantaros.

Bago expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that it would pave the way for innovation in agriculture and industrialization, benefiting both the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Mr. Coumantaros emphasized the potential of the collaboration, describing Niger State as a key agricultural hub in Nigeria.

“A farm without a factory is a weed, and a factory without a farm is a scrap,” Coumantaros stated, underscoring the importance of linking agriculture with industrial processing to maximize economic impact.

Niger State’s Commissioner for Industries, Trade, and Investment, Aminu Takuma, highlighted that the African Development Bank (AfDB) has endorsed Flour Mills’ entry into the SAPZ, promising to establish an Agricultural Transformation Centre in Sunti to further strengthen agricultural value chains.
