The exercise began promptly at 12:00 noon at the L-PRES office, where submitted bid documents were formally opened.
The event attracted potential bidders from across Nigeria, all expressing interest in executing the transformative project. The bid opening marks a critical stage in the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) process.
In his opening remarks, the State Project Coordinator, Sirajo Abubakar, commended the bidders for their orderly conduct. He stated that, upon conclusion of the evaluation process, only one bidder meeting all necessary requirements will be selected for the contract.
He also emphasized L-PRES’ openness to partnerships with contractors committed to advancing livestock productivity in Sokoto State.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development, Abubakar Mohammed, thanked all participating bidders for their interest in the project.
The Project Procurement Officer, Sanusi Jibril, later presented the submitted bid documents for review.
It will be recalled that advertisements for the project were published on July 8, with a 28-day window for bid submissions. Following the close of the submission period, the bids were opened and read, detailing the relevant information provided by each contractor.
