Dear Farmer Governor, I write to briefly present what I consider “Strategic Recommendations for Achieving ‘Operation Feed Niger State.”

As the 2025 farming season commences, I write to humbly offer a few strategic recommendations that I believe will greatly enhance the success of the “Operation Feed Niger State” initiative under your visionary leadership.

Your Excellency, your administration’s dedication to agricultural development is commendable and timely. To build upon these efforts, I respectfully propose the following three actionable steps to empower our farmers and increase food production across Niger State:

  1. Subsidize Agricultural Chemicals: Prioritize subsidies for essential agricultural inputs, particularly high-impact products like Gramazon, to reduce production costs and improve pest and weed control for smallholder farmers.
  2. Ensure Affordable Access to Fertilizers: Facilitate the timely distribution of subsidized fertilizers to farmers to improve soil fertility and significantly boost crop yields.
  3. Promote Agricultural Mechanization: Equip each local government area with a minimum of ten tractors and related machinery, made available to farmers for hiring at subsidized rates. This will reduce manual labour, save time, and enhance productivity.

If these recommendations are implemented effectively, the positive impact will be evident throughout the state and contribute meaningfully to national food security.

Thank you for your attention, and your unwavering commitment to the agricultural transformation of Niger State.

May God bless Niger State.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Yours sincerely,
Zephaniah Jeremiah
