The Institute of Quality Assurance of Nigeria (IQAN) has honored the President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Farouk Rabiu-Mudi, with an Honorary Patron and Fellowship Award for his exemplary leadership and contributions to national food security.
The award was presented on Monday at a round table meeting in Abuja, where participants commended Rabiu-Mudi’s long-standing commitment to promoting food security, advancing agricultural policies and supporting rural communities.
Prof. Victor Akpan, Chief Executive Officer of IQAN, described the AFAN president as “a transformational figure whose dedication to the agricultural sector has positively impacted millions of farmers nationwide.”
He said the Fellowship Award is the institute’s highest honor, given only to individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to standards, ethics and quality assurance in their professions.
Akpan noted that AFAN’s leadership continues to improve food production and strengthen national food security, adding that food security remains the foundation of national development.
Also inducted as fellows were AFAN’s First Deputy President, Mr John Olateru; National Publicity Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Garba; and National Organizing Secretary, Dr John Barbington, in recognition of their contributions to the association’s vision and objectives.
In his remarks, Rabiu-Mudi thanked the institute for the recognition, saying it would further motivate AFAN to champion the interests of Nigerian farmers.
He reaffirmed AFAN’s commitment to working with stakeholders to strengthen the agricultural value chain and boost national food production.
The ceremony ended with a call for stronger collaboration among policymakers, institutions and farmer groups to promote sustainable agricultural growth across the country.
