Zamfara governor’s Aide donates relief materials to flood victims in Gummi

The Special Adviser to Zamfara governor Bello Muhammad on Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar Zugu has donated food items and building materials to flood victims in Gummi local government area of the state.
Hundreds of households were displaced and multi-million naira worth of farmland, produce and property, were destroyed in the local government area and some parts of the state as a result of flooding caused by heavy downpour.Presenting the items to Gummi emirate, Zugu described the incident as unfortunate and worrisome.

He said that the gesture was to complement the effort of the state government in reducing the hardship among the victims.

He said the donated items comprised 200 bags of cement, 100 pieces of women clothing and 100 sets of  blankets,

He said others items were 100 cartons of indomie, 100 cartons of spaghetti, 20 cartoons of soap and 20 cartons of detergents.

Responding, the Emir of Gummi, Justice Lawal Hassan described the gesture as timely.

“This is what is being expected from well meaning individuals and political office holders.

“We commend the donor for cushioning the plight of victims of the disaster”, the Emir said.

The monarch assured judicious distribution of the items to the victims.

The Commissioner of Information , Sulaiman Tunau then called for more support to the victims by well meaning individuals.
Tunau reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving the living standard of the people.
