On Tuesday, sunny skies with patches of clouds will dominate the north, though thunderstorms and rains will persist in parts of Adamawa, Taraba, and nearby states. The central and southern regions will continue to experience moderate rainfall.
By Wednesday, NiMet predicts sunny mornings in northern states, with thunderstorms expected later in the day. Central states will see cloudy skies and moderate rainfall, while southern states including Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Cross River will experience morning showers followed by moderate to heavy afternoon rains.
The agency cautioned residents in flood-prone areas to remain on alert, activate emergency responses, avoid driving during heavy downpours, secure loose objects, and take precautions against strong winds and low nighttime temperatures.
NiMet also advised residents to disconnect electrical appliances during storms and avoid taking shelter under tall trees.
“Airline operators are urged to obtain airport-specific weather reports for safe planning. For updates, residents can visit www.nimet.gov.ng,” the agency added.
