Mövenpick Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, part of the Accor portfolio, has achieved the prestigious Green Key Certification for 2025, an internationally recognised eco-label coordinated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
The hotel announced the milestone in a statement signed by its Commercial Lead, Ubongabasi Nseobot, on Tuesday in Lagos.

“The Green Key is granted only to establishments that demonstrate exceptional standards in environmental management, energy efficiency, and community engagement,” she said, noting that the certification underscored the hotel’s commitment to sustainability.
Key initiatives driving the certification include:

- Championing water conservation measures across operations.
Nseobot added that the hotel’s partnerships with global and local stakeholders have fostered innovation in eco-friendly solutions, enabling it to offer guests both luxury and meaningful, responsible travel experiences.
“Green Key certification cements Mövenpick Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, as a pioneer in eco-conscious hospitality, shaping a greener future for Nigeria’s travel industry,” she said. “Sustainability is not just a goal; it is a responsibility we embrace wholeheartedly.”
She further noted that the achievement aligns with Accor’s global “Positive Hospitality” commitment, ensuring each property contributes to sustainability goals while delivering world-class guest experiences.
