Dangote Industries Limited has announced that it will sponsor the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), which opens on September 25.
In a statement, the company said it is proud to partner with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), organizers of the fair. It described the event as an opportunity to connect with key stakeholders and strengthen trade and investments across Africa.
The company’s Corporate Communications department said the fair will also allow Dangote to showcase its wide range of products and highlight its contributions to Nigeria’s sustainable development.
The statement, signed by company spokesman Anthony Chiejina, noted that Dangote has consistently supported the Chamber over the years. He added that the company’s President, Aliko Dangote, is deeply committed to the Chamber, which he sees as strategically important because it is located in Nigeria’s capital, close to policymakers and diplomats.
This year’s Trade Fair, the 20th edition, will focus on the theme: “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation.”Chiejina said the theme aligns with the vision of Dangote Group.
Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser to the President of Dangote Group, explained that the company will showcase products from nearly all its business units. These include sugar, cement, salt, fertilizer, trucks, Dangote Peugeot Automobile, packaging materials, seasoning, petroleum products, and more.
She added that Dangote supports the Chamber’s “Buy Africa, Build Africa” (BABA) initiative, describing it as a strong step towards boosting local content and promoting trade across Africa.
Chief Emeka Obegolu, President of the ACCI, said the 12-day fair is expected to draw over 100,000 participants. These will include government representatives, multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), diplomats, and development partners.
He explained that the exhibitions will cover several sectors, including trade, agriculture, fintech, sustainable energy, transport, environment, and creative industries. A key highlight, he said, will be the partnership with Dangote Group.
“Our collaboration with Dangote reflects our commitment to driving economic growth, strengthening trade, and creating opportunities for businesses and communities,” Obegolu said. He added that Dangote’s participation shows its central role in Nigeria’s industrial and commercial development.
The Chamber said the fair will not only provide a marketplace for networking and investments but also showcase green innovations and eco-friendly technologies that can boost industries and improve lives.
Dr. Agabaidu Jideani, Director-General of ACCI, said investors like Dangote will benefit greatly from participation through market access, visibility, networking, and credibility.
He stressed that the Chamber values its partnership with Dangote, which has consistently supported the fair and other initiatives that promote business growth in Nigeria.
According to Jideani, the partnership enhances the visibility and global reach of the fair while reinforcing the Chamber’s mission of promoting sustainability, innovation, and investment.
“Dangote’s presence inspires confidence among stakeholders and attracts more local and international exhibitors. Moving forward, ACCI is committed to strengthening this collaboration with the Dangote Group to continue making a positive impact on Nigeria’s economic transformation,” he said.
