Terrorists have destroyed two 330 KVA electricity transmission towers located in Kasaisa in Damaturu local government area of Yobe State.
The development, which was confirmed by the state Police Command, has plunged beneficiary residents of Borno and Yobe into darkness.
The Police spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said in Damaturu on Saturday, that the tower supply electricity from Gombe to Yobe and Borno states.

According to him, the terrorists were suspected to have used improvised explosive devices to blow up the facilities in the early hours of Saturday.
“The electricity transmission towers are located in Kasaisa in Damaturu Local Government Area of the state and supply power from Gombe to Yobe and Borno.
“The destruction has plunged residents of the two states into darkness,” he said.
The attack on the towers was the second in three months, with the first incident occurring in December, but repaired in January.
In December, for the second time last year, the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP), destroyed 330KVA high tension transmission line along Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway.
In that attack, the TCN said: “The Transmission Compnay of Nigeria (TCN) hereby confirms the destruction of three of its towers along Maiduguri – Damaturu Transmission Line with explosives yesterday 28th December, 2023.
“In addition to the destruction of the three towers, the very sad incident also cost the life of an NSCDC officer.
“It’s truly another very sad day for us at TCN, with this incident, especially with the loss of life of the NSCDC official.
“TCN commiserates with the family of the deceased and the NSCDC for this very sad and shocking incident,”
