Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, KAEDCO, has confirmed that the ongoing reconductoring of Birnin Kebbi/Sokoto 132KV line by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, is the reason for the persistent power outage in Sokoto.
The company also said electricity would be restored on Friday when work on the towers is expected to be completed.
This is contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi and made available to ASHENEWS on Wednesday.
“The Management of Kaduna Electric, informs its esteemed customers in Sokoto State that the persistent outage being experienced by residents is due to the ongoing re-conductoring of the Birnin Kebbi – Sokoto 132KV line by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN).
“The outage is to enable the TCN crew/ contractor to cover a critical area of the line which cannot be covered in a day due to the long distance of the towers 104 towers,” the statement reads.
The company apolohused for the inconvenience caused by the repairs.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has been causing our esteemed customers.
“While assuring that electicity supply would be restored on Friday 5/03/2021 when the work is expected to be completed.”
