Read the statement below:
The attention of the management of the Sokoto State University has been drawn to documents in circulation especially in the social media, purporting to show a list of students invited by a committee set up to verify alleged claims of results alteration.
While the management acknowledges the existence of the said committee (whose report will be made public after the exercise), it however, strongly objects to the contents of the said reports, especially as it concerns the so-called list of invitees for interaction.
For the avoidance of doubt, the University hereby states categorically that at no time did it sanction the said publications, which it believes only serves to peddle names of our hardworking students, whose integrity may have been impugned upon by the said report.
The University hereby assures its teaming students of its readiness to all times, protect, their hard-earned qualifications against the falsehood that the said report may have created.
In view of the above ugly development, the University Management wishes to apologise to all students whose names appeared in the list and the general public for any damage that might have been caused from the incidence.
To this end, all those whose names appeared in the list are hereby urged to ignore the invitation, while the University investigates the matter.
