The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has visited Poland as part of efforts to strengthen the reading and research culture at the institution.
During the working tour, Prof. Liman visited a joint university library and an Environmental Engineering Laboratory to explore innovative academic and research models.
The visit aligns with the university’s commitment to maintaining its leading position in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ranking, particularly Goal 4 — Quality Education.
In Katowice, Prof. Liman toured a joint library operated by the University of Silesia and the University of Economics, where she examined the model of shared academic resources and collaborative learning spaces.
She observed that such partnerships could be replicated in Nigeria through inter-university linkages and joint project initiatives, enhancing access to quality learning and research materials.
“The joint-library model demonstrates how collaboration, rather than competition, can drive quality education. It encourages shared knowledge, innovation, and efficiency — a system that can work in our universities,” Prof. Liman said.
The Vice-Chancellor also visited the University of Zielona Gora, where she toured the Environmental Engineering Laboratory, a facility established through industry–academia collaboration.
The laboratory, she noted, illustrates how partnerships between universities and industries can produce practical solutions to environmental challenges while advancing innovation and research.
The visit reflects Prof. Liman’s vision of positioning NSUK as a research-driven institution committed to innovation, academic excellence, and sustainable development.
The university community expressed optimism that lessons drawn from the visit will translate into improved research output, stronger academic linkages, and a renewed reading culture across NSUK.
