The Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Bauchi State chapter, has begun a two-day training on Information Communications Technologies (ICT) based on Nigeria e-learning passport for school teachers.
50 primary and secondary teachers in FOMWAN schools are currently participating in the training which commenced on Monday in Bauchi.
Fatsuma Muhammad, FOMWAN Chairperson of its Education Committee, said the training was aimed at updating teachers knowledge with a view to meeting up with global practices.
Muhammad said the world had moved to e-platform, hence the need for teachers to key into modern techniques of teaching and learning, to improve their methodologies.
She said the e-platform would widen the scope of literacy education, using the latest technology.
She noted that skills acquired would enable participants to maintain a proper record that would improve the system.
Muhammad called on stakeholders in the education sector and the media to key into the Nigeria e-learning programme, to change their present narratives.
Similarly, the facilitator of the programme, Mr Abubakar Abdullahi, said the Nigeria e-learning passport was a system that simplified educational processes aimed at uplifting education standard in Bauchi and the entire nation.
Abdullahi explained that Nigeria’s e-learning passport would assist teachers and students to acquire technical knowledge on their goal within and outside the school.
Responding on behalf of the participants, Mrs Balkisu Isa thanked the organisers for the opportunity, saying they kept the teachers abreast of trending knowledge for quality access to education in FOMWAN schools.
