Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, has announced that 114 students graduated with First Class Honours in the 2024/2025 academic session.
Ojediran made this known on Saturday during the 17th Convocation, which also featured the conferment of honorary degrees, award of higher degrees and diplomas, and presentation of prizes.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the 17th Convocation was unique, symbolizing endurance, commitment, and growth over the years. A total of 1,066 students graduated, including 272 postgraduates and 674 regular and Direct Entry (Top-Up) undergraduates.
“This includes 114 students with First Class Honours, 373 with Second Class Upper, 260 with Second Class Lower, and 47 with Third Class,” Ojediran said. He added that Miss Oduwaiye Ifeoluwa, from the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, emerged the overall best student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.94.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the graduands, urging them to become agents of change, noting that the seed of greatness had been planted in them. He emphasized the university’s commitment to enhancing visibility in enrollment, research, and webometric presence, while commending his predecessors, Prof. Julius Okojie and Prof. Isaac Adebayo, for laying a solid foundation for quality education.
Prof. Bart Nnaji, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University Council, stated that all academic programs at Bells University have been fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). He also congratulated the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adeyemi, who was conferred with an honorary degree in recognition of his remarkable contributions to education.
