Senator Aliyu Wamakko, has commenced sinking of seventeen solar-powered boeholes in various parts of Sokoto metropolis and its environs.
The project which began end of February at Makerar Assada, had been completed with communities already benefiting.
The Director of Administration to Wamakko, Alhaji Amustapha Alkali said the engineers will soon complete the installation of the necessary accessories in all the areas.
The other benefiting communities include Sabon Birnin, Kofar Marke, while the borehole had already been drilled in Dambuwa, with only the other accessories yet to be fixed.
Other communities include the North West University of Science and Technology, Kalambaina; the Kalambaina main community, Girabshi, as well as Mabera, near Sheikh Musa Lukuwa Jumaat Mosque.
Some elders of the benefitting communities who spoke expressed delight with the intervention by the former governor of Sokoto State.
They prayed for Wamakko and described him as a man of vision.
