Zamfara state governor, Bello Mohammed has suspended the Emir of Zurmi, Atiku Muhammad for alleged links to the killings in Kadawa village.
Recall that protesters in May, burnt a section of the palace of the Emir, positing that security agents and the Emir, were doing less than expected of them against bandit attacks in the area.
In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe on Friday, governor Muhammad suspended the Emir and ordered Bello Suleiman (Bunun Kanwa), to take charge of the affairs of the emirate with immediate effect.
The governor also set up a committee to investigate the allegations made against the suspended Emir, on his involvement in the escalating rate of bandit attacks in the emirate.
Members of the committee include Former Deputy Governor Ibrahim Wakkala (Chairman); Former Deputy Governor, Mukhtar Ahmad Anka; Zamfara State House Leader, Faruku Musa Dosara, among others.
The Committee has three weeks to complete its assignment and submit a report.
