ASHENEWS reports that the Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has again sponsored 15 Sokoto state students to study various graduate, and postgraduate courses at the University of Lahore in the Republic of Pakistan.
ASHENEWS further reports that Wamakko who presented the admission letters to the successful and qualified candidates implored them to ensure total commitment to their educational pursuits as well as focus on their studies in order to come out with flying colours at the end of their courses.
He further challenged them to use the opportunity given to them to be of good conduct while in Pakistan and ensure they maintain the good name Nigeria is known for.
Abdulkadir Abubakar and Abubakar Sadiq got admission to study Master of Business Administration (MBA) while Auwal Aminu will study Pharmacy, while Sagir Abubakar Lemi will study B.Sc in Social Sciences (Political and International Relations).
Saidu Aminu will study BSc in Media and Mass Communication, and Ahmad Yusuf Maccido and Naziru Abubakar will study BSc in Diet and Nutritional Sciences at the same institution.
Similarly, Musa Bello and Mande Kasimu will study BA in Business Administration, while Saifullahi Shehu will study BSc in Visual Communication Design.
The only female candidate, Salamatu Ahmad Umar, and Mr. Gaddafi Abubakar will both study BSc in Computer Science, while Mukhtar Isah Sadiq and Al’amin Liya’u Alkali will study BSc in Electrical Engineering.
Yasir Harande Mahe got admission to study BSc in Social Science (Political and International Relations).
The beneficiaries thanked Senator Wamakko for the gesture and pledged to study hard as expected.
They described the invaluable gesture as marvelous and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.
The candidates will soon leave Sokoto State, Nigeria for the Republic of Pakistan as soon as their visas are ready.
ASHENEWS recalls that this is not the first time Senator Wamakko would sponsor students to study various courses both at home in Nigeria and abroad.
