Troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma have apprehended a suspected terrorist ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, aged 25, alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, a motorcycle rider. The duo was arrested on December 28, 2024, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to a statement released by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, Ahadu was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji.

The arrest was made possible through an intelligence report about the movement of terrorist logistics from Kware to Badarawa. Acting on the information, troops promptly established a roadblock, leading to the successful interception of the suspects. Both are currently undergoing investigation by relevant authorities.

The statement emphasized Operation Fansan Yamma’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms and ammunition in the region. It also called on members of the public to continue providing credible information to aid in the arrest of terrorists and their collaborators.

The Theatre Command expressed gratitude to the local population for their sustained support in achieving the objectives of Operation Fansan Yamma.
