ASHENEWS reports that the Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the promotion of a police inspector, Mohammed Aminu to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP 1).
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Head, Press, and Public Relations at the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani.
“Inspector Mohammed Aminu who trended on social Media where he was seen being assaulted in uniform by one Seun Kuti was also promoted to ASP 1.
“The Commission noted that despite the unwarranted provocation, intimidation, and serious assault he exhibited a high level of professionalism, and restraint and chose to follow the due process of law to seek redress,” the statement said.
This online platform reports that Kuti was in May 2023 captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.
This led to calls for his prosecution by the PSC and the then Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
