Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has appealed for sustained prayers as bandits launched yet another attack in the state.
The Governor commiserated with the people of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area following the recent armed banditry incidents in Wasagu and Maga towns.
According to reports, the attackers invaded Wasagu and abducted an unspecified number of residents. They also attacked Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, where they abducted 25 students, killed one staff member, and injured another.

A joint security team, with reinforcement from Abuja, is currently tracking the bandits, who are believed to have crossed into Kebbi from neighbouring Zamfara State.
Governor Idris expressed deep concern over the continued influx of bandits from nearby states and even neighbouring countries, leading to recurring violence in rural Kebbi communities.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling the security challenges, emphasizing ongoing provision of logistics and financial support to security agencies in the state.
The Governor has previously convened high-level security conferences and summits involving key national figures—including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III; former Chief of Army Staff, General Christopher Musa; and former Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd). His administration has also provided 100 Hilux vehicles and 5,000 motorcycles to boost security operations across the state.
