The Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, has called on president Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Muhammad Adamu, to unravel the killers of its son and US-based Dennis Abuda.
Abuda, who was president of Fugar- American Foundation, an affiliate and partner of FPU, was killed last Saturday on his way to Lagos to catch a return flight to America after the Yuletide celebration in Fugar.
A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of FPU, Mr Solomon Obomighie on Friday also called on US government to support Nigeria’s efforts in bringing the perpetrators to book.
The Union appealed to Edo state government to continue working with relevant stakeholders to protect citizens of the state from incessant attacks by criminal elements.
“We call on Edo state government and Etsako Central local government, to immortalise Prince Dennis Abuda and most importantly, use his death as an avenue to put an end to the security nightmare faced by residents and travellers across the state,” the statement reads in parts.
An insurance broker in Atlanta, Georgia, Abuda was abducted along with three others but later found dead in the bush.
Already, five suspects have been arrested by the Police in connection with the murder.
