The Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, will chair the Nigeria Private Security Conference (NPSC) 2026, the organisers have announced.

The conference, themed “Building a modern security ecosystem: Integrating private sector capacity into Nigeria’s national security architecture,” is scheduled for June 13 in Abuja.

According to the organisers, the event will bring together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including government officials, security agencies, private sector operators, investors, and international delegates.

In a letter dated May 20 and signed by Group Capt. MK Nanle on behalf of the minister, Musa described the conference as a structured national platform for fostering collaboration among government, defence, intelligence, private sector, and technology stakeholders.

He accepted to chair the conference and expressed the ministry’s readiness to work with the organisers to ensure its success.

Convener Charles Awuzie commended the minister for supporting the initiative, noting that his participation demonstrates commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework.

Awuzie said the conference would convene top decision-makers, including state governors and national security leaders, to drive policy discussions and partnerships.

He added that the event would feature exhibitions aimed at connecting participants to commercial opportunities in the security sector.

The conference seeks to promote community-based security systems supported by technology and regulation, stimulate job creation in the private security industry, and advance reforms to enhance safety nationwide.
