ASHENEWS reports that a six-month-old baby stolen from the Kure Ultra Modern Market in Minna, the Niger State capital has been found in Gauraka, Tafa local government area of the state.
This online platform further reports that the baby’s father, identified as Chikezie Stanley Chuks had on Sunday, announced that his son, Chinedu Chukwueke, was suspected to have been stolen from his mother’s shop by an apprentice of the baby’s mother.
Chuks, on Wednesday, disclosed that the baby was found at a refuse dump close to Gauraka police station in the Tafa local government area of Niger State.
“Baby has been found. He was dumped at a refuse dump close to Gauraka police station. Baby is in good health,” he said in a tweet he posted on Wednesday.
Confirming the development, the Niger State Police Command said that the baby was abandoned following close monitoring by operatives of the command anti-kidnapping unit.
The Commands spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement said that the baby was found on Wednesday around 12:30 pm.
“The baby was taken to a nearby hospital for medical examination and confirmed to be in good health. He has been reunited with the family.
“However, effort is ongoing to apprehend the fleeing perpetrator of the crime to face the wrath of the law,” the statement said.
