ASHENEWS reports that bandits in the early hours of Sunday, kidnapped Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa in residence at Bado area of Sokoto.
Barrister Fadinand Okotete, a Notary Public, and Principal partner of the law firm where Mrs Mustafa works told ASHENEWS that she was kidnapped by bandits at about 1 am.
“The bandits stormed her house and kidnapped Rukayyat along with a young man. After they trekedto a vehicle that was parked far away from her residence,’ Okotete said, adding “They then told the young man to go back or they would shoot him. The man rushed back for fear of being shot by the bandits.”

Okotete further told ASHENEWS that the matter had been reported to the Police for possible rescue of the kidnap victim.
Rukayyat’s younger brother, Khalid Mustafa corroborated Barrister Okotete’s account, adding that the traumatised young man was not able to provide full details of the incident.
Khalid however said that the Police had requested them to report at 1 pm.
This platform reports that Sokoto is one of those debilitated by banditry.
More recently, the bandits abducted 17 almajiris, mostly children between the ages of 8 to 12, from their school in the early hours.
The pupils were sleeping outside when the roar of the smoke-puffing motorcycles of the terrorists jolted them back to life as they scampered for safety.
Responding to our inquiry, the Spokesperson for Sokoto Police Command, Ahmad Rufai confirmed the incident to ASHENEWS, adding that the Police have got some clues that link to the suspects.
“Yes, the incident happened and we have gotten some clues. As investgation continues, we shall keep the public updated on the development”.
