The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele has fulfilled the bail conditions granted him by Justice Hamza Mu’azu of the FCT high court in Maitama.
Justice Mu’azu had granted Mr Emefiele bail in the sum of ₦300 million, and production of two sureties, who must have landed property in the Maitama District of the FCT.
Report says that Emefiele’s release warrant was signed by a vacation judge, Justice Othman Musa on 22nd December.
A source in the prison said, “Emefiele was released quietly in Kuje prison at 3 pm on Friday after fulfilling his bail conditions secretly.”
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is still looking for him to arrest him,” and that’s “why he was released secretly.”
According to him, everything was done secretly in active connivance with the prison officials who perfected the plan and hid him from visitors who were visiting the facility.
