Thirty-six Nigerian governors have appealed the Federal High Court judgment which dismissed their suit challenging the planned deduction of $418 million from the Federation Account. The money is meant to settle debts owed consultants engaged by state and local governments on the Paris Club refunds. At least, 26 per cent of schools in the northeast have been targeted by suicide bombers, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has stated. It said an improved system of school data collection, analysis and usage will help bridge the gap caused by protracted conflict in the education sector.
