Three people were drowned while 17 others were rescued by Marine Police when a commercial boat capsized on Badagry waterways on Wednesday. The Imo House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the state N381.4 billion 2022 budget. This followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation at the Committee of the Whole House in Owerri. The Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters says the troops of Operation Delta Safe have immobilised 14 illegal refining sites and recovered large quantity of stolen products in the Niger Delta region in the last two weeks. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday, awarded N147million in compensation to 27 victims of police brutality. The panel is investigating violations of human rights by defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other police units.
