OPEC made the appointment at a Special Meeting on Monday held via video conference, which was chaired by president Jean-Richard Itoua, Congo’s Minister of Hydrocarbons and Head of its Delegation. Six persons died while 12 sustained injuries on Monday in an accident involving a Mistubishi canter and a Mazda bus, around Lala/Kere area of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. Mr Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident in Abeokuta. The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has advised the National Assembly to expunge the clauses regarding direct primary election in the 2021 Electoral Amendment Bill, for it to be signed by President Muhammadu Buhari. The O’odua Peoples Congress (OPC) has dissociated itself from a coalition of 57 Yoruba groups allegedly rooting for South-West pro-restructuring presidential candidate in 2023. OPC Publicity Secretary, Yinka Oguntimehin, in a statement, denied the involvement of Gani Adams in the mega accord, saying such moves were purely fraudulent and very far from the truth. Nigerian government says its plan to attain 95 per cent digital literacy by 2030 is on course. Kashufu Abdullahi, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), made this known on Sunday at the graduation ceremony of 50 children, including 10 Almajiri children at the Engausa Global Tech Hub in Kano.
