The Naira on Friday appreciated at the Investors and Exporters window, exchanging at N420.12 to the dollar, a 0.01 appreciation against N420.17 traded on Thursday. The open indicative rate closed at N419.79 to the dollar on Friday. An exchange rate of N444.00 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N420.12. The Naira sold for as low as N413 to the dollar within the day’s trading. A total of $162.98 million was traded in foreign exchange at the official Investors and Exporters window on Friday.

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared May 2022 Federation Revenue Allocation to the federal, states and local government councils to the tune of N680.783 billion. This is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of June 2022 FAAC meeting held in Abuja. Uganda has announced that it has struck a deposit of 31 million tonnes of gold ore, with extractable pure gold estimated to gross 320,000 tonnes. The National Drug Law NDLEA arrested seven suspects for alleged drug trafficking at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano in May and June Its commander at the airport, Mr Sani Abubakar, made the disclosure on Friday in Kano in commemoration of the 2022 UN International Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking.
