The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Is-haq Oloyede has disclosed that the board has discovered 706,189 illegal admissions by universities, colleges of education and polytechnics. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged the Federal Government to prioritise investment in infrastructure to improve the country’s business environment and boost economic growth. Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has disclosed that his and Lagos states are demanding for 1 per cent in the new nation’s revenue allocation formula. The Nigerian government has inaugurated enhanced e-passport  to improve passport application process for Nigerians at home and abroad. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it has so far disbursed N864 billion to 4.1 million farmers to cultivate 5.02 million hectares of land under its Anchor Borrowers’ Programme (ABP) since inception in 2015. The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele made the revelation while presenting the communiqué from the recently held Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the apex bank in Abuja. The UNICEF on Wednesday, applauded Sokoto government for signing the Sokoto State Child Protection Bill into law, saying it is a “major step forward for children’s rights in Nigeria.” The state governor, Aminu Tambuwal signed the bill into law on Monday, 18 years after the federal government of Nigeria enacted the Child Rights Act 2003 and urged state governments to domesticate the Act.
