Seven persons were killed, while seven others sustained injuries on Saturday in an accident involving a Mercedes Benz luxury bus at Ososa Bridge on the Sagamu-Benin Expressway. Ahmed Umar, Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun confirmed the incident in Abeokuta. Umar said the accident occurred at 12:20 a.m. and it was caused by excessive speeding, wrongful overtaking and loss of control by the driver. The Central Bank of Nigeria says it plans to finance infrastructure projects with banking and pension monies. Data from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited on Thursday has shown that the company in 2021, spent a total of $3.21 billion (N1.322 trillion) on the federal government’s priority oil sector projects. The company ALSO recorded a funding shortfall of $2.686 billion in the amount required to fund the selected priority projects.
