An explosion of fuel tanker on Friday, left 17 persons burnt to death along the Lagos-Ibadan highway in Ogun state. The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe confirmed the incident, saying that 14 of the bodies were burnt beyond recognition. “The total number of people involved is not ascertained, but a total of 17 bodies (killed) have been identified, including one man, one woman and a girl. “One male, one female, and one female child only have been identified, while others were burnt beyond recognition and no injury sustained,” Okpe said. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on February 10, 2022 returned N1,550,000.000 to the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS. The fund is part of monies which some commercial banks fraudulently withheld and refused to transmit to their Treasury Single Account, TSA, since 2015. The Commission had earlier on September 16, 2021 released N1,300,000,000, also recovered from the banks to the Agency.
