President Muhammadu Buhari has welcomed the beginning of Muslims’ holy month of Ramadan with a call on Nigerians to remember the poor and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Muslims fast throughout the 30 days of the holy month. The ECOWAS Parliament Speaker, Mr Susie Tunis, has donated $10,000 to facilitate development projects in Sime Darby Central High School and the Liberia Government Hospital both in Bomi County, Liberia. Tunis made the donations on Monday during an oversight visit to some communities across the Bomi County on entering into Liberia through the Sierra Leonean/Liberian border to attend the ECOWAS Parliament delocalized meeting. The Police Command in Lagos has dismissed and ordered prosecution of one Sgt. Eze Aiwansoba for firing at, and attempting to kill his lady friend, Joy Ndubueze. The State Police Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that the incident happened on Oct. 8, at Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja Lagos. Uche Ekwunife, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, Mr Chris Azugbogu, Mr Winston Udeh and Mr Valentine Ozigbo. Security has been beefed up in Osogbo, the Osun capital as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, holds its zonal congress. There is heavy security presence at Women and Children Development Initiative Foundation, WOCDIF, venue of the congress  on Monday, in Osogbo. Men of the Nigeria Police, Department of State Security Service, DSS, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, were sighted at the entrance and  around the venue.
