Niger state government says 17,000 communities have been submerged by flood. The Secretary to the state Government, Alhaji Ahmed Matane disclosed this during an the on-spot assessment of the flood situation in Mokwa local government area of the state, according to a statement issued by the information officer in his office, Mr Tanko Lawal on Monday. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced two deaths and 126 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country. The NCDC made this known on its official twitter handle on Sunday. More than  502, 545 samples have been tested by the agency since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in February. It also said that the 126 new cases were recorded in 12 states, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 58,324.
