A clergy, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and five others have been sentenced by Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo State High Court in Akure, to life imprisonment over the disappearance of a one year old boy, Gold Kolawole, in his Church. The prophet was sentenced with five other workers of Sotitobire Praising Chapel: Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo and Esther Kayode, who were all arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy, aiding and abetting kidnapping. Oil workers, under the aegis of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), on Tuesday picketed the office of Baker Hughes, a multinational oil company, over sacking of 64 workers. The key market indices of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday rallied to the all-time high, appreciating by 4.92 per cent. Specifically, the market capitalisation which opened at N14.402 trillion rose by N949 billion to close at N15.110 trillion. Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara says that his administration has entered into a N5 billion gold supply deal with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Gunmen have killed the acting Village Head of Wereng community in Riyom local government area of Plateau, Mr Chungyang Mwadkon. The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Kano State, has confirmed nine persons killed and three others injured in a ghastly motor accident on Kano-Zaria Road. Mr Zubairu Mato, the Corps Commander, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Kano on Tuesday. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, says Lagos State recorded the highest Internally Generated Revenue. IGR, of N204.51 billion in the first half of 2020. The NBS made this known in its Internally Generated Revenue at State Level (H1 2020) report made available on its website on Tuesday. It said the second state with the next highest IGR was Rivers with N64.59 billion, while Jigawa recorded the least IGR with N3 billion. Meanwhile, the IGR figure of the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was N612.87 billion in the period under review compared to N693.91 billion recorded in 2019.…
