The Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kogi state, Alhaji Wakili Damina, has been abducted. The state Secretary of MACBAN, Mr Adamu Abubakar, told newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday that Damina was abducted on April 30 by some armed men dressed in army camouflage. The Service Chiefs will on Thursday brief the Senate on the security situation of the country. President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan made the announcement at the commencement of Tuesday’s plenary in Abuja. The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has urged Nigerians to disregard the publications on social media saying the administration had been printing money since 2015. Amaechi in a statement by his Media assistant, Mrs Taiye Elebiyo-Edeni, said that the news should be disregarded as it was false. The Police in Benue have confirmed attacks by some gunmen on communities in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state. The spokesperson of Benue Police Command, Catherine Anene confirmed the attack on Monday, saying full details of the incident were yet to be received. Anene said that gunmen in the early hours of Monday attacked Mbamondu and Vengav, in Avihijime council ward in Udam and Tse Amgbem close to Aondona, all in Gwer West Local Government. She, however, said that the Command was also yet to get full details of the attack on the communities.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) to be domiciled in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). Buhari also appointed a retired Major General Abba Dikko as the pioneer National Coordinator.
