The Hunters’ Group of Nigeria (HGN) and the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KVS) have rescued three Fulanis after raiding a kidnappers’ den beside Erotyi mountain in Kogi/Koto Local Government Area of Kogi. The Spokesperson for the hunters’ group, Abdullahi Yahaya, said that three of the suspected kidnappers were also arrested during the operations. Yahaya noted that the rescued victims were not hurt and were in perfect condition, while the arrested kidnappers had been handed over to the appropriate authorities, with their confiscated weapons, for further investigation. An agricultural biotechnologist, Dr Rose Gidado, has expressed optimism that cultivation of herbicide tolerant (Bt) soybean would improve farmer productivity and strengthen the nation’s economy. Gidado was responding to questions on Wednesday, in Abuja, on prospects of herbicide tolerant soybean cultivation in Nigeria. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has commenced the distribution of agricultural farm inputs to 21,794 farmers affected by the 2020 floods in Sokoto state. The Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Habib, stated that the items were approved for distribution by President Muhammadu Buhari, under the Federal Government’s Emergency Agricultural Interventions Fund (EAIs) to the 2020 flood disaster victims. Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal has nominated three persons for appointment as members of the State Executive Council, to the State House of Assembly.
