Oboh, who is also a philanthropist and a businessman, described the deplorable state of Kuje roads as worrisome and called on the Federal Government for quick intervention.
He said through his efforts with the community, they were able to grade the bypass and created speed breakers along Government Girls Secondary School Kuje Road to ease movement and reduce the frequent occurrence of accidents on the road.
According to him, the minister had made countless promises to fix the bypass linking Gudaba Expressway, AA Rano Junction and Secretariat Road to ease vehicular movement.
“We expect every right-thinking Nigerian to see the right thing to do within their immediate environment. We expect people to emulate what we are doing in this community of AA2 AA3 layout in Kuje Area Council.
“Yes, we are doing what the government is supposed to do because many government officials use this road from the airport, immigration, Air force, Civil Defence, Area Council officials, including the Chairman.
“Some time ago the Minister of State saw members of the community working on the road, she promised that within a couple of weeks, they will send a team of engineers to this community. No one has been here since then.
“For the past 15 months, there has been no sign of any government officials and people within this area suffer every day. You can imagine when you have up to five thousand to eight thousand vehicles passing here every day, just imagine what it means in Nigeria.
“The message is not only for the community. The government should come to our rescue. This is a vital route that people in Kuje Area Council use and the plight is enormous. We are appealing to, including the Senator Philip Aduda, Minister of State and FCT Minister and our father, President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the aid of this community.
“Anything you see in this community, is been provided by the residents, no water, no road, no security. There is no government presence in this community that have no less than ten thousand people,” he said.
However, the community leader also called on the minister to ensure that the dividends of democracy reflect on infrastructure development in the area.
He added that Kuje was fast-growing and there was the need to dualise the Kuje-Airport Road and fix some bypass roads to decongest traffic during rush hours.
He particularly pointed at Tipper Garage, AA Rano Junction, Secretariat and Market roads as being among those in dire need of immediate attention to reduce the plight of road users in the area.
