An artificial intelligence specialist, Oludayo Ojerinde, has unveiled a health-focused chatbot to address people’s healthcare needs.
Ojerinde, in a statement on Friday in Lagos, said the innovation was to eliminate hospital waiting time and also assist in addressing other challenges in the healthcare sector.
According to him, the chatbot is designed to complement hospital service, provide second-opinion and more information on the ailments.
Ojerinde noted that the nation’s health system was far from being perfect with many citizens paying out-of-pocket for their health needs and spending long waiting time at hospitals.
‘You and Your Health’ Chatbot utilises advanced natural language processing to engage users in personalised conversations about their health concerns, ensuring a tailored experience for every individual.
“It is also free of charge to consult on ‘You and Your Health’.
“Many of those who offer this service run it on a subscription model. You have to pay to access their service and it doesn’t come cheap.
“But we are saying, come with any health question you have, talk to our chatbot, and get a human-like conversation and solution,” he said.
He added that the chatbot provides 24/7 accessibility that ensures users could seek guidance and information whenever they need it, thereby breaking down barriers to accessing health-related support.
Ojerinde noted that the chatbot seamlessly integrates with health data, allowing users to track and manage their health information within the conversation, promoting a holistic approach to well-being.
