ASHENEWS reports that a report by Agora Policy has revealed that Nigeria is estimated to have lost $100 billion due to the effect of climate change.
The founder of Agora Policy, Waziri Adio revealed this while speaking at the Policy Conversation on “Nigeria, Climate Change and the Green Economy” in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to him, climate change was increasing hunger, poverty, disease burden, migration, conflict, and insecurity in Nigeria.
He said it was also damaging infrastructure, changing Nigeria’s coastlines, fuelling desertification, producing water scarcity, facilitating erosion and resulting in the loss of revenue for states and the national government.
