ASHENEWS reports that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi state, retired General Aminu Bande, and the party have filed notice of appeal against the judgement of the state Governorship Tribunal, which affirmed the victory of Nasir Idris and his deputy, Umar Abubakar.
This platform further reports that the duo filed their notice of appeal on 24th October 2023.
The spokesperson of the party, Sani Dododo, while speaking with this platform in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday, also debunked the rumour that Bande would not appeal the tribunal judgement.
“The rumour is being peddled to deceive the good people of Kebbi state and our supporters. We filed our notice of appeal on October 24, 2023 and nothing will hold us back nothing will discourage us from going further,” he told ASHENEWS.
According to Dododo, the judgement of the tribunal, which threw out PDP’s petition for lack of merit, was purely illogic.
He disclosed that during the tribunal sitting, the party presented 87 evidences of rigging without counter by the APC, yet the tribunal discountenanced the evidences.
While assuring the citizens and party supporters that there would be change of baton from APC to PDP at the Appeal court, Dododo appealed to them to be law abiding citizens.
He encouraged them to respect the PDP leadership and have faith on Bande and his deputy, and be prayerful for the party.
